BACKGROUND:

The 2024 STS School in Singapore brought together a dynamic community of scholars for an immersive research and training program in the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS). The intensive School was a meeting point of interdisciplinary dialogue, spanning 4 days of seminars, workshops, keynotes and fieldtrips and combining a mix of elements designed to support scholars’ research projects and professional careers. Participants has the chance to: investigate timely critical debates and perspectives; contribute to a rich scholarly program; and sharpen research and publication skills.

Singapore's vibrant setting offered a diverse group of scholars from wide-ranging disciplines and geographies the chance to collaborate with the editorial team of the journal Science, Technology, & Human Values, as well as invited instructors from universities in Singapore and elsewhere. Instructors were STS scholars with disciplinary backgrounds in Anthropology, Sociology, Integrative Studies, Design Studies, History, and other disciplines and fields.
